Antoine Alexandre Joseph Cardon, Battle of the Centaurs, 1772-1773
Antoine-Alexandre-Joseph Cardon was a Belgian painter and engraver (1739-1822).
He was a student to Hyacinthe de La Pegna, who painted for Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. After a while, he became a teacher at the Académie Royale des Beaux-arts in Brussels.
Cardon was a keen member of Freemasonry. He appears as one of the founders of the Lodge of the Union. He engraved many Masonic emblems.
The original engraving image was slightly modified for the design of this hoodie.
